Last Thursday was my happy birthday and we got to go to the Museum of Glass.
I worked right down the street from there a few years ago and have always wanted to visit.
What a perfect birthday trip!
The cool thing is that the 'visiting artists' are always in rotation so you could go every few weeks and see new artwork!
There's even a big studio they call the Hot Shop and you can watch the artists creating their pieces.
It was so fascinating and I'll definitely go again someday.
We couldn't take pictures inside the museum but outside there was lots to snap photos of.
The ones at the top are the fountain right outside the doors.
Pretty, isn't it?
I've been wanting some semi-abstract photography to potentially print and hang in our house.
Here's what I saw outside on that sunny day.
Another cool fountain..
These huge pieces are what attracted me in the first place.
They are fixed on the walking bridge that goes across the freeway...
There was some great architecture around the place, too...
After exploring, my parents, Camillo, Josiah, and I went to a little pub called Harmon's to share a couple appetizers.
Delicious!
My mom has never been to 'happy hour' and was totally amazed to get a heaping
plate of nachos for 5 bucks.
I guess I need to teach her a thing or two, huh?
Anyways, it was a great day.
Guess what I did when we got home, though?
Fell asleep on the couch before dinner.
At 730.
I decided to go to bed for just a minute since I was so tired - I didn't want to be tired at dinner!
So I set my alarm for 20 minutes and was OUT.
Camillo came in and I woke up - 'oh, let's go!'
It. Was. ELEVEN. PM.
Camillo hadn't woken me up because he figured if I was tired enough to
sleep that hard, I must have needed it.
I gotta tell ya...
I cried.
Cuz, hello?!!?
Who the heck sleeps through their own freakin' birthday?!?!
I felt like an idiot.
Thanks to the hubs, though, we made up for it the next night with sushi and ice cream.
And sushi ice cream, actually.
Well, it was just presented like sushi - ice cream wrapped in thin slices of kiwi.
So cute..and tasty!
So, that's it.
My birthday story :]
When's your birthday?
Have any plans?
Has it already past this year?
xoxo
