The Myth of Perfectionism

Source: yanilavigne.net via Joy on Pinterest

The myth of perfectionism can be a crutch sometimes. A 20 minute phone call is perfect but a 5 minute hello isn't good enough. The card has to look just the right way and say the right thing, otherwise, it shouldn't be sent. This gift needs the perfect assembly and if it doesn't have it, well, it won't be special enough. That man needs money and all I have is 3 dollars. That's not as perfect as 5 or 10 or 20, so I'll keep my 3. Think of all the things you would do if you realized it didn't have to be perfect, just genuine.

The myth of perfectionism can be a crutch sometimes. It doesn't have to be perfect to be overwhelmingly meaningful. And it doesn't even have to be overwhelmingly meaningful to make someone's day. Get over yourself and toss the crutch.

Think of the joy you could bring if you would only:
Make the phone call.
Send the card.
Give the gift.
Share the wealth.

What is your 'it'?

Just. Do. It.

Today I'm thankful...
That I'm a creative lefty.
For an inspirational breath of fresh air.
That I don't have to be perfect.
