Old Baggage

Over the last year or so I've discovered a new love affair with vintage luggage.
(get it..old baggage?)
It seems as though I'm not the only one!
This week I read how to revamp tired luggage with pretty fabric - a DIY by Rachel
And was then inspired by Savannah's collaboration of repurposed ideas.
Can you see why I love it?
Here's what I did right away:

I've had these pretty pieces in our living room since we moved in.

They have our extra blankets and pillows in them!

I loved the idea of using stool legs to lift them off the floor...

Hmmm..I think I like it!
I'll leave it for a few days and, knowing me, might tweak it a little bit.

Oh, hey..do you see that muddy little piggy on the bottom shelf?
I painted that for Camillo for our first Valentine's Day!

Friday Favorites: Quality Time

Look at the sun!

It's in that picture, can you see it?

The other day Camillo was speaking my love language loud and clear.

We spent the whole afternoon together..quality time.

We took the scoot out and when I asked where we were going..

'I dunno, just riding.'

Um, that sounds great!

See, the thing about the scooter is that I get to sit behind Camillo and hold tight.

It's good snuggle time.

And we have this funny thing where we holler like Tarzan and then crack up laughing.

People look at us (or should I say towards us) like something's wrong.

It's sooo fun! 

Anyways, when we finally pulled over it was into Dick's Burgers parking lot.

We ate a burger (Camillo had 2!) and milkshake while we sat in the park and talked about heart stuff.

It was sooo lovely.

Then on the way home, we parked on campus and...

Drumroll please...

He took me for a walk!!

It must be the sun that's getting to him.

;)

   Quality time

   Scooter ride

   Burgers

   Milkshakes

   Sunny walk

+ Slurpees      

= One Happy Girl

Friday Favorites: Muffins, Colors, and Bowls

The other day I made blueberry muffins.

Mm Mm MMM

I decided it would be a perfect post for today:

Favorite Muffins? Blueberry!

Favorite color? Mossy green!

Favorite bowls? Pyrex!

Wanna make some?

In a medium bowl, combine 

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

In a smaller bowl, whip up

1 beaten egg

3/4 cup milk

1/2 cup apple sauce

Put everything in this bowl, 

and mix it up!

Add the best part - the blueberries!

Now fill a cupcake pan, each cup 3/4 full.

If you'd like, you can sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on top :]

I used papers but, since I substituted apple sauce for oil, they stuck to the muffins.

So when you make yours, just spray each tin with a little oil.

Tada!

Friday Favorites: Photo Shoot

This week the weather has been b-e-a-uuutiful and I definitely had to take advantage of it!

Thursday Nichole and I wandered through Tacoma and eventually ended up by the water near the Point Defiance Zoo.

It was so fun snapping poses of each other and Nichole taught me sooo much!

Her and her husband are a dynamite photography team and I am blessed to have them as photog mentors and friends!

Anyways, this week's favorites are from our day Thursday.

Friday Favorites: Thrift Store Finds

Here we are!

I missed last Friday because I was in Portland.

So I'm making up for it today with my favorite thrift finds of the week!

We visited a few different ones over the weekend and I found a gorgeous (maybe crystal?) platter, pink little serving dish, perfect shelf, a cute jar for buttons, and another suitcase. 

All for under $20!!

Look at the detail!

I love the flower shape etched out.

I'm not quite sure what this is supposed to be.

But it reminds me of my grandma and I am soo happy to have found it.

I want to use it for my earrings.

This shelf was five dollars!!

It's just what I need for my crafty room.

I'll prime and paint it to brighten things up.

Maybe make a DIY out of it?

The jar you see there is going to corral all my buttons.

I love buttons.

I'll give you an up-close soon - it's in mid-DIY at the moment :]

I might have a collection of suitcases.

Maybe.

This one was 3 dollars and the cutest size.

I could spend hours thrifting and luckily, my travel mate felt the same :]
