Dear Gramps,
Man, I sure do miss ya.
We're going home this weekend to see a lot of family.
I keep forgetting you won't be there, too.
My mom had all your old photo albums at her house and I brought them home
with me to look through.
You sure had fun.
It's hard to explain, but it's almost as if I miss the you that I never knew.
The 16 year old you who liked to spend time at the beach with his friend and surf in the ocean.
I see these photos of a handsome guy loving life and it's surreal to realize that's you.
Thanks for being a good husband, faithful to Grams for 71 years.
Thanks for making her coffee every single morning.
She really really loves you.
Thanks for being a family guy and spending time with all your kids.
And their kids.
Thanks for teaching me how to ride a bike and play tennis and swim in the deep end.
Thanks for making me tough enough to walk barefoot on rocks and teaching me
how to be safe in a canoe.
Thanks for going hiking and camping with us and teaching us to love God's creation.
I love you a lot lot lot, Gramps.
Thanks for leaving behind a great legacy.
We all really miss you but we're so happy you get to be with Jesus.
Someday I'll be telling my kids all the stories I've got saved up from days spent with you.
Thanks for the memories and being a big part of my life.
Love,
J-Mo
Absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you Joy Marie
